June Ministry Update 2022
We did it!
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support over the last few years! I'm excited to share with you that I have reached my funding goal and I bought my one-way ticket to fly back to Tokyo on August 8th!
The last couple months have been filled with so much joy and busyness and also sadness as I've started saying my goodbyes. Last month I finished my internship at New Heart Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My time there was an incredible blessing. As I've shared in previous updates, the things I learned at that church are going to be huge benefits to my ministry in Japan. The previous two Sundays, I was back in Vermont and I preached at two of my partner churches and started saying goodbye to them too. I've also been doing a lot of planning for the next couple months.
As you are reading this, I will be on my way to Wisconsin. Over the next month I have four different churches I'll be visiting, and in total, I'll be in nine different cities spread across five states. Most of my time will be spent in Wisconsin and Minnesota, but I'll also be in Illinois, Michigan, and Missouri, so let me know if you are in any of those places and want to meet up! It's taken a lot of time to put this all together, but I'm really excited to see many friends and ministry partners as I travel around. Just please be praying that my car makes it all the way through!
Another exciting update is that my Certificate of Eligibility, an essential part of my visa paperwork, is ready and will be sent from Japan this week. The next step will be to submit everything to the Japanese Consulate to get my official visa. You can be praying for that process to go smoothly and for me as I will need to make a trip to Chicago this month to do it.
I'll be ending my month of travels in Kansas City, Missouri for the Challenge Conference. You can read more about it and my team's involvement in my last update. I'm really excited for it and for all the work being put into it to train and mobilize the next generation for Christ!
After Challenge I will be driving back to Vermont and spending the remainder of my time before I fly out resting, spending time with family, and preparing for my transition to Japan.
I plan to send out another update in July to share about how all these travel plans went as well as a few more details about returning to Japan, but then after that, the next time you hear from me I'll be in Japan! It's sometimes still hard to believe that it's actually happening! Thanks again for everything! I really appreciate you all! I wouldn't be here without you.

It's been a long journey, but finally, we hit 100%! Thank you to everyone who has prayed and given financially to get me here!

Prayer Requests
- Praise God for being fully funded! It has been amazing to see God provide and so many generous people come alongside me in the support raising process. I am so thankful and humbled by all that has happened over the last couple years to bring me to this point.
- Pray for my travels in the next month. I will be driving through eleven different states halfway across the country and back again so first of all, please pray for safe travels and that my car continues to run smoothly. The air conditioner has been having problems, so pray that I can still get cool air while driving through the summer heat! Pray for the churches I will be sharing with and for the people that I meet with that those times will be encouraging. Pray that even in all the busyness I can still find time to rest.
- Pray for my transition to Tokyo. There is still a lot of paperwork and other things I need to put in order before I return to Japan. Pray that I would be able to get them all done in the next couple months and that I can manage my time well. Pray that I would not forget anything. I would also like to start doing more language learning before I return, so pray that I could make time to do it and that I would be energized in my studying.
- Pray for my visa. My Certificate of Eligibility (COE) is on its way and the next step will be applying for my visa with all the required paperwork including the COE at the Japanese Consulate. Pray for my COE to come quickly, for the rest of the process to go smoothly, and that I will have my visa in hand within the next month.
